Mumbai: Fake messages of child abduction are going viral on social media. Now it has been seen that its bad effect is now affecting the children too. In Ghatkopar, an 11-year-old student pretended to be kidnapped for not attending school. This frightened the Ghatkopar police. He later admitted that the boy had done the forgery.

An 11-year-old boy from Ghatkopar’s Ashoknagar block had scored low in the examination. So there was no need to shout at school. Similarly, he had seen fake messages of kidnapping on his elder brother’s mobile phone. Then the boy felt that if he was told that he had been kidnapped, he would not be sent home to school. Then this boy made a plan. He put his notebook at a neighbor’s house and asked to keep it here as his parents were not at home. Then he went home with his untidy clothes and hair. After going home, he said that when he was on his way to school, two of his men tried to kidnap him. His parents took the boy to Ghatkopar police station. When the boy was on his way to school, two men pulled him into a moving rickshaw and tried to kidnap him. He informed the police officers that he pressed my mouth but I jumped and ran away but my wallet was snatched.

Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Dahake immediately formed teams and asked them to search for this rickshaw. But the CCTV and the information given by the local people showed that such incident did not happen. After this the police took this boy into confidence and on being asked, he said that he had done this forgery. You have low marks in school. I didn’t want to go to school and as a fake message I said that I have been kidnapped. The boy told the police that he did this because he would not be allowed to go to school. Due to this fraud made by such a child, the police also got caught. But after that the boy was handed over to his parents after explaining that he should not do it again.
