Amber Heard's insurance company refused to pay damages, saying- 'Johnny Depp was defamed'

The affair of Hollywood actor Johnny Depp and actress Amber Heard has been in discussion for the past several months. Amber Heard’s troubles do not seem to end soon, as her insurance company has now refused to pay Amber Heard for the damages caused to her ex-husband Johnny Depp. The insurance company claims that Amber Heard has “intentionally” defamed her ex-husband Johnny Depp, so it does not want Johnny Depp to be paid damages by Heard.

A June 1 decision in a US court ordered Amber to pay $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages in connection with the misdemeanor defamation claims against Johnny Depp. On the other hand, statements made by Depp’s attorney, Adam Waldman, tried to discredit Heard, which also ordered Johnny to pay Amber a total of $2 million.

Amber was sued by the insurance company
At the same time, the latest report states that a US-based insurance company is suing Amber so that she does not have to pay any cost for the ongoing litigation. The company also stated that if Amber appeals any further in court and the insurance company is required to pay damages, Amber should be ordered to pay Johnny after the lawsuit is decided.

The insurance company gave this argument
According to a report by lawandcrime.com, New York Marine & General Insurance Company filed a lawsuit against Amber in the US District Court for the Central District of California on Friday. The report states that Amber had a $1 million liability policy with the company, with which she could pay Johnny a portion of the damages. Also, if Amber has ‘deliberately’ and ‘maliciously’ defame Johnny, the insurance company may refuse to pay.

‘Company not responsible for willful loss’
The company says the insurer is not responsible for willful damages. So he should not compensate for Amber. The insurance coverage of Amber was from July 2018 to July 2019. Earlier, it was also reported that Amber’s lawyers want a Virginia court to order a new trial against Johnny in the defamation case because the wrong jury was paneled during the trial. Both Johnny and Amber have accused each other of domestic violence.
