The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has banned Hollywood actor Will Smith from attending the Oscars for 10 years after taking strict action on the ‘slap’. The Academy has taken this action after the controversy that started after Will Smith slapped American comedian and host Chris Rock at the Oscar Awards show.
Will Smith will not be able to participate in any Oscar ceremony for the next 10 years. Actually, during the Oscar award show, Will Smith slapped host Chris Rock for making derogatory remarks against his wife and actress Jada Pinkett Smith. However, after the incident, he apologized and said that he would accept the action taken by the academy.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences President David Rubin and Chief Executive Dan Hudson said in a statement: “The 94th Oscars were meant to celebrate those who did an incredible job last year. But in the meantime, the unacceptable transaction made by Will Smith turned a blind eye.
