98,000 Russians arrive in Kazakhstan after Putin announces 'partial deployment': Officials

Tallinn: Officials in Kazakhstan said Tuesday that 98,000 Russian citizens had entered Kazakhstan following an announcement by Russian President Vladimir Putin that Putin called a partial deployment of “reserve troops”. Russian citizens continue to travel to neighboring countries by road and air to avoid military deployment.

Kazakhstan and Georgia were formerly parts of the Soviet Union and Russian citizens leaving the country are entering the two countries by car, bicycle or on foot.
