Wheat Prices: Wheat prices have increased during the festive season. At present, the price of wheat has increased from 1.5 percent to 3 percent. This will benefit the wheat growers. The expansion of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) will also increase the total availability of wheat in the market. Due to this, the price of wheat is also expected to fall. However, for the time being, there are signs of increasing wheat prices.
Wheat price increased by Rs 70 to Rs 80 per quintal across the country
Wheat prices have increased by Rs 70 to Rs 80 per quintal across the country in the last fortnight following the ban on export of wheat flour. At present, the price of wheat has reached from 2 thousand 430 to 2 thousand 450 quintals. This information has been given by the traders. Traders expected that if the central government did not extend the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, the prices of wheat would rise sharply. However, the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana is being expanded. The overall supply of wheat will increase due to the ongoing internal grain distribution through this scheme. Traders have also informed that this will slow down the pace of increase in the price of wheat.
