Plano (Texas). A woman who went out with her friends for dinner in Texas got unnecessarily confused with some Indian women and started abusing her. Plano police arrested the woman, Esmeralda Upton, after a video of the incident was shared on social media. In the video, Upton can be heard asking a group of Indian women to ‘go back to India’. Upton even said that ‘You guys are ruining this country’. The woman even said that ‘You are Indian everywhere and if life in India was so wonderful, why are you here?’

According to a report in CBS News, the women videographed the incident outside Sixty Vine on August 24. One of these women later shared the video on social media and wrote that ‘Dinner with a friend ended with a horrific experience. As we left Sixty Wines, Plano, and headed to our cars, an angry, intoxicated woman approached us, hurled hateful racial slurs and even attacked us.’

Upton can be seen using racial slurs in the video. He assaulted at least two women. Based on witnesses’ statements, Upton was arrested the next day – August 25. He was charged with assault, battery and making terroristic threats. Police investigators said more charges could be filed against Upton in the future. He had to post a $10,000 bond.
