For his outstanding work, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri in the year 2021. Born in London on 21 March 1925, Peter Brooke was honored with several awards such as the Prix Italia Award and Emmy Awards.

Peter, the son of Russian parents, became a director at the age of 17. He was only 20 when he was appointed director of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He was also associated with the Royal Opera House of England. Later, he founded his own company, the International Center for Theatrical Research.
