1857 – Birth of revolutionary Shyamji Krishna Varma

Indian revolutionary, lawyer and journalist Shyamji Krishna Varma was born on 4 October 1857. He founded the Indian Home Rule Society and India House. He founded the Indian Sociologist Journal in London. Through this he criticized British Indian policies. This forced him to leave London and later move to Paris.

1957 – Soviet Russia’s first satellite, Sputnik, is launched into space

October 4, 1957 proved to be an important milestone in the progress of science and technology development. On this day, Soviet Russia successfully launched the satellite Sputnik 1 (Sputnik 1) into space. Soviet Russia became the first country in the world to achieve such a feat. 1977 – Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s address to the United Nations in Hindi

After the Janata Party government came to power, Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the Foreign Minister in that government. On 4 October 1977, Atal Bihari Vajpayee addressed the United Nations in Hindi. He was the first Indian to do so. After the speech of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the world leaders present there applauded loudly.

2006 – Founded WikiLeaks

Founded on 4 October 2006, WikiLeaks caused a sensation and exposed confidential information from countries and leaders around the world. WikiLeaks was founded by Julian Assange through Sunshine Press.

WikiLeaks is a controversial non-profit organization that publishes confidential and classified information from around the world. WikiLeaks publishes millions of secret and sensitive government documents, reports and memos through its website. In its first ten years, as of 2015, WikiLeaks claimed to have published 10 million documents.
