New Delhi. French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna is coming to India next Wednesday on her first visit as a minister. But just before this visit, France has supported India on the issue of terrorism in the UNSC. France has supported India’s proposal to designate Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists Mohiuddin Aurangzeb Alamgir and Ali Kashif Jaan as global terrorists by the UNSC 1267 Sanctions Committee. Colona, who is traveling for the first time as a minister, will be in Delhi on September 14-15 and will meet the country’s top leadership.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Aurangzeb Alamgir was the main link behind Jaish-e-Mohammed in the 2019 Pulwama attack. According to officials familiar with the matter, Aurangzeb Alamgir alias Mujahid Bhai and Ali Kashif Jaan alias Jan Ali Kashif were declared terrorists under UAPA by the Home Ministry on April 12. Alamgir, a resident of Bahawalpur, Pakistan, was the main conspirator of the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. Alamgir was a fund raiser and infiltration commander.

It is known that 40 CRPF personnel were martyred in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. Officials said Alamgir is responsible for the infiltration of Afghan terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir as well as terror attacks in the Valley. Describing the terrorist Kashif, the officials said that Kashif Jaan, a resident of Charsadda in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is the operational commander and Masood Azhar is part of the core planning committee of the Bahawalpur-based Jaish group run by Alvi Family Enterprises.

Kashif was the handler of terrorists involved in the 2016 Pathankot Air Force Station attack and is the prime accused in several cases under investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). According to officials, Kashif, one of the top Jaish commanders, runs a cross-border terror outfit in Jammu. Along with this, it conspires to send infiltrators to India under cover fire from the Pakistani army.
