Kolkata Durga Puja Pandal Idol Controversy: A big controversy has started over the idol at Durga Puja Mandapam in Kolkata. The idol of Goddess Durga is seated. ‘That’ statue was replaced after a suggestion by the police
This Durga Puja Mandap is built near Ruby Crossing in South West Kolkata. According to the information, after registering a complaint in this regard and following the instructions of the police, the statue resembling Gandhi was replaced. Regarding the whole event, the organizers said that this similarity is completely coincidental. According to mythology, Goddess Durga killed Mahishasura to ward off the evil power. Chandrachud Goswami, state working president of the All India Hindu Mahasabha, said, “The Durga idol worshiped here initially had the demon Mahishasura, whose face resembled that of Mahatma Gandhi. After the pictures of the idol went viral, a police team visited After that, the face of Mahishasura was changed in this idol.
Tension may rise during celebrations – Kolkata Police
Earlier, a journalist had tweeted a picture of Durga idol tagging Kolkata Police. He later deleted the post saying that the police had asked him to remove the picture as it might create tension during the festival. The journalist wrote in a new tweet – I have been requested by Kolkata Police Cyber Cell @DCCyberKP to delete my tweet on a special puja in Kolkata, as they feel it may create tension during the festival. As a responsible citizen, I comply with his request.

Chandrachud Goswami Goswami of Hindu Mahasabha said, “The organization was not meant to hurt anyone’s sentiments. The police asked us to change it and we changed it. Sandeep Mukherjee, president of the Bangia Parishad Hindu Mahasabha, said, “We are the Akhil Do not support Indian. Hindu Mahasabha did it. We condemn it.
