In the time-lapse video, it can be seen how the first water slowly rose on the road and eventually took over the entire locality. According to Newsweek, the area in Lee County where Fort Myers is located is the most affected by the storm in Florida. More than 420,000 people were without electricity here on Thursday. Over 20 lakh people are still affected by the blackout across the state.

Fort Myers is one of the residential areas most affected by the storm’s strong winds, rain and storm surge. There has been heavy damage to buildings and properties here. Power lines have been broken and trees have fallen. According to officials, there was three to four feet of water in some parts of the city. On Wednesday, curfew has been imposed in the entire city for the next 48 hours.

On Wednesday evening, the Lee County government warned residents to stay indoors. Because it is not safe to live on the streets anymore. The National Weather Service said people who are indoors should stay away from windows. Keep as far away from the walls as possible.

At the same time, according to the AP, due to the cyclone that hit Port Charlotte near the coast of Florida, the ground floor of a hospital was flooded and the roof of the fourth floor where the ICU is located. No death was reported from Ian in the US late Wednesday night.
