Will Smith, sharing a post on his social media account, apologized to Chris Rock for slapping him. Will Smith writes in his post- ‘Violence in all its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at the Academy Awards last night was unacceptable and unforgivable. Jokes are part of the job at my expense, but the joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.’
He further wrote- ‘I want to publicly apologize to Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am ashamed and my actions were not indicating the person I want to be. There is no place for violence in the world of love and kindness. I also want to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, everyone in attendance and everyone watching around the world. I also want to apologize to the Williams family and our ‘King Richard’ family. I am deeply sorry that my actions have spoiled a grand journey for all of us.’
