Twitter is reportedly working on bringing together teams that engage in reducing toxic content and spam bots on the social media platform. The latest development comes amid allegations by former Twitter security chief Peter ‘Mudge’ Zatko that the company misled regulators about the micro-blogging site’s poor cybersecurity protections. The security expert also alleged that Twitter prioritized user growth over reducing spam on the service.

according to an employee memorandum As seen by Reuters, Twitter is going to combine its health experience team with its services team and plans to call the new group “Health Products and Services (HPS)”.

The Health Experience team at Twitter works toward reducing harmful content, while the Services team is responsible for removing spam accounts as well as reviewing profiles reported by users.

Ella Irwin, current Vice President of Product for Health and Twitter Services, is expected to lead the HPS team.

Twitter security chief Peter ‘Mudge’ Zatko recently alleged that the social media platform misled regulators about its defenses against hackers and spam accounts. Mudge also said that Twitter falsely claimed that it had a solid security plan in place. The security expert also said that the company was “forced” by the Indian government to have one of its agents on the company’s payroll.
