The final trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has just arrived. Amazon Prime Video dropped a new trailer for the highly-anticipated Middle-Earth prequel ahead of its premiere on September 1st or 2nd (depending on where you live). Prime Video will release the first two episodes on the first day, while the rest – episodes three through eight – follow a weekly release schedule. In India, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power debuts on Friday, September 2 at 6:30 AM IST. Follow-up episodes drop every Friday at 9:30 AM IST.

The final trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power begins with a voiceover from Galadriel (Morphide Clarke), an elven warrior, detailing her rise to power following the death of her brother. “My brother gave his life while hunting the enemy. His work is mine now,” she says as she borrows his trusty dagger in his memory. The LOTR prequel series, set thousands of years before Peter Jackson’s films, aims to address the lack of strong female characters in The Lord of the Rings universe.

As portrayed by Cate Blanchett in Jackson’s trilogy, before becoming the “Lady” of Lothlorien’s forest, Galadriel, as a sworn warrior, sets out on an adventure to defend Middle-earth from the rising evil of the Second Age. of movies. The Rings of Power trailer emphasizes that something is amiss in this realm, as main characters Isildur (Maxim Baldry), Elrond (Robert Arayamo), and the aforementioned Galadriel prepare for the resurgence of evil. It then cuts to quick shots of armies marching through breath-taking locations of elven and dwarven territory, while being hunted by ferocious orcs.

“You have fought long enough, Galadriel. Put away your sword,” asks Elrond, exhausted and frustrated by her resolve. While Sauron isn’t specifically mentioned in The Rings of Power trailer, there is a small tease at the end where an armored character plunges his sword into ice. Previous reports and A to tease Twitter has also hinted at his return, with The Rings of Power being the origin story. As one of the greatest villains ever written by JRR Tolkien, he is the creator of the One Ring – a powerful and dangerous artifact forged in the flames of Mount Doom.

The Rings of Power also stars Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owen Arthur Nazanin Boniadi, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charles Edwards, Tristan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry and Emma Horvath. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is led by showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay, both of whom served as uncredited writers on Star Trek Beyond.
