The French car market picked up slightly in September, but the real upturn is still pending. According to figures published on Saturday by the Automotive Platform, 141,142 new cars were registered last month in France, an increase of 5.46% compared to September 2021. However, sales remain down 11.7% on the nine first months of the year, and 32% compared to the same period of 2019.
Despite an improvement noted in recent months, manufacturers are still having difficulty supplying their customers. For lack of a sufficient supply of semiconductors, they must periodically interrupt certain assembly lines, as Renault had to do again in its factories in Douai and Maubeuge at the end of last week.
