Washington. On Wednesday, three people were killed in an explosion at a home in the US city of Evansville, Southern Indiana. The cause of the blast is not yet known but the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating the matter. Vanderburgh County Chief Deputy Coroner Dev Anson said the identities of the victims would not be released until families were notified.

A ‘coroner’ is a government or judicial officer who has the authority to investigate a death or confirm the identity of the deceased. Evansville Fire Department Chief Mike Connelly said a total of 39 homes were damaged in the blaze at 1 p.m. He said at least three people were injured. At least three people were injured and several homes were damaged in the explosion in southern Indiana, officials said.

This is the second incident of house explosion in the area in the last five years. Earlier on June 27, 2017, two people were killed and three others were injured in an explosion.
