Told: Sangli’s Sangli Sargar has made a mark with his performance in the Commonwealth Games. Sanket has won India its first medal on the second day of the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Sanket Mahadev Sargar has won silver medal in 55 kg weight category. His success has made the family proud while Sangli and Maharashtra’s chest have swelled with pride. But there is an edge of poverty in his success, there are eighteen worlds of poverty in the house. Due to the poverty of the family, he had to sit with his father. But he never made his poverty the reason. He never let the condition of the middle class come in the way of his goals. He dreamed of a gold medal sitting on the edge of a leaf. For this he worked hard. Though he missed out on his dream of a gold medal today, he has made the nation proud by winning the first silver medal for India.

Today is the second day of the Commonwealth Games 2022 to be played in Birmingham, England. On the second day today, Sangli’s Sangte Sargar gave India its first medal. Sanket Mahadev Sargar won silver medal in 55kg category. Sanket Sargar put all his might in 6 attempts in two rounds and lifted a total of 228 kg to win the silver medal. Sangli, originally from Sangli, not only made it to the final of the Commonwealth Games this time, but he also won the hearts of people with his brilliant performance. He took a best of 113 in the first round of the snatch. After this, he won the medal by lifting 135 weights in the second round i.e. clean and jerk. He also won the gold medal in the championship last year.

Due to the deteriorating condition of the house, Sanket’s father used to run a Panachi tapri and also kept a breakfast center. Sanket used to sit at the shop to help his father. Helped father as much as possible. Hotkaru Sanket had a passion for sports from the very beginning. He trained properly in weightlifting. The family also supported Sanket in his endeavor. Helped him as much as he wanted. Provided necessary support. With the same strength he continued his horse racing. He finally won India’s first silver medal at the Commonwealth Games today.

Sanket used to practice in the gym since childhood. For the first few days, he had no desire to become a weightlifter. But with daily practice he got used to weightlifting. Then he got serious about his career and started practicing meditation. Due to immense hard work, the expected success was achieved at the age of 21. Today he has offered silver medals to the soldiers of the country. He is showering with best wishes from all over India. The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde have congratulated Sanket.
