Poco M5s Reportedly Bags TUV Rheinland Certification, Hints at Imminent Launch

Poco is preparing to launch a new M-series smartphone in India soon. The company teased the handset on Wednesday through a social media post without naming it. The upcoming device is speculated to be Poco M5. Now, another model, the Poco M5s has reportedly received the TUV Rheinland certification, which confirms its arrival. The Poco M5 was also previously spotted on the website of Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). Poco M5 could be powered by MediaTek Helio G99 SoC.

Tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings) tweeted Screenshots of the alleged listing of the Poco M5s on the TUV Rheinland certification site. The handset was spotted with model number 2207117BPG. According to the leak, the certification for the handset was issued on July 15. However, the screenshots do not suggest any specifications of the device.

Recently, Poco officially teased a smartphone in India via Twitter without revealing its exact nickname. The upcoming device is speculated to be Poco M5. The teaser poster shared by the company with the words “G99” suggests that the phone could be powered by MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. The rumored Poco M5 may offer 4G connectivity and is said to be priced under Rs. 15,000 in India.

The Poco M5 is expected to run on Android 12 out-of-the-box. It is said to have a 6.58-inch LCD display with full-HD+ resolution. It can get a 5,000mAh battery with at least 33W fast charging support. The smartphone with model number 22071219CG has also visited the NBTC certification site in Thailand. The handset is said to be launched in India in early September.

Poco has not yet officially shared any information regarding the launch of Poco M5 and Poco M5S. So, these details should be considered with a pinch of salt.
