Washington. The United Nations Security Council held a meeting on Wednesday to review the six-month war on the 31st anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. As the meeting began, Russian Ambassador Vasily A. Nebenzia requested a procedural vote regarding Zelensky’s participation in the meeting via video tele-conference. Meanwhile, India voted against Russia for the first time on Wednesday during a “procedural vote” on Ukraine at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Let us tell you that many countries including America had opposed India’s attitude towards Russia. At the same time, India’s decision to buy oil from Russia was also criticized.

Also, the 15-member UN Security Council invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to address the meeting via video-teleconference. The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on since February. After this, for the first time, India has voted against Russia for the first time in Ukraine. However, till now India is postponing the issue of Ukraine in the United Nations Security Council, due to which Western countries including America are unhappy. After the attack on Ukraine, Western countries have imposed severe economic and other sanctions on Russia. India has not condemned Russia’s attack against Ukraine.

India has repeatedly appealed to Russia and Ukraine to return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue and expressed cooperation in all diplomatic efforts to end the conflict between the two countries. India is a non-permanent member of the UNSC for two years. His term will end in December. After this 13 party members voted in favor, while Russia voted against the invitation and China did not vote. As the meeting began, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vasily A. Nebenzia requested a procedural vote regarding the participation of the Ukrainian President in the meeting via video tele-conference.
