In the bronze medal match, Manoj defeated Daisuke Fujihara of Japan 21-20, 21-13. Manoj Sarkar made it to the semi-finals on the basis of good coordination and superb smashes. But there he was defeated. He was defeated by Daniel Bethel of Britain. After this he reached the court for the bronze medal match.

Manoj Sarkar of Uttarakhand has taken a very difficult and bad journey of Paralympics. He had fever at the age of one and a half years. Manoj was not treated properly due to bad financial condition. His leg became weak after taking medicine during poor treatment. The condition of the house was so bad that he used to go to work with his parents during the holidays.
Seeing people playing badminton, Manoj demanded a racket from the family. But there was no money for that. Manoj’s mother said that she saved money by working in the fields and bought a racket for Manoj.
