In Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, only 32% of business leaders are women. This rate is the lowest in mainland France. To restore balance, Florence Bourgeon created a 100% female networking day with her Chouette Team association. Called “Madame Business”, this event enabled 150 business leaders to meet on September 13 in Givry, in Saône-et-Loire.
Coming from all over Burgundy, the participants were aged between 20 and 66 years old. All of them wanted above all to work on their professional network. “They needed to talk about their business, to be visible and to surround themselves. And between women, they feel less judged,” explains Florence Bourgeon.
Speed dating was organized throughout the morning to allow the youngest companies to make themselves known. These exchanges also made it possible to create synergies between several structures. “Many leaders who did not know each other have made professional appointments for the coming weeks,” rejoices the organizer.
A second edition in 2023
The second part of the day was devoted to wellness and relaxation workshops. “They lead lives at a mile an hour so they needed a moment to think about them”, underlines the founder of Madame Business. These moments also made it possible to raise common issues. ” The subject of mental workload came back a lot. In almost 90% of cases, the entrepreneurs present were mothers, which complicates the management of the agenda,” she analyzes.
The majority of participants are also at the head of a micro enterprise or a very small business, as shown by an INSEE survey published this summer. “We had a lot of professional coaches (skills assessment), sports or yoga teachers, well-being activities (reflexology, naturopathy), but also professions in the legal sector, banking and crafts “, completes the organizer.
A second edition of Madame Business should be organized in September 2023. In the meantime, Florence Bourgeon wishes to launch an application to invite participants to exchange virtually. She hopes to achieve a first version of the application by the end of the year.
