We decided to come to Delhi because we had a mind that if we were going to Delhi, we would be able to go to our country. Sheikh Hasina said that about 18 members were killed, mostly my relatives, some servants and their children, some guests and my uncle. The conspirators wanted that no member of Bangabandhu’s family should ever come to power. Recalling the incident, Sheikh Hasina said, “When we came to Delhi it was probably 24th August. I met Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. There we come to know that no one is alive. Then she made all the arrangements for us. My husband.
