Wrestling players gave India 3 gold medals in a day. Indian wrestler Deepak Punia has won India’s third gold medal. In men’s freestyle wrestling, Deepak Poonia defeated Pakistani wrestler Mohammad Inam 3-0 in the 86kg category.

Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik has won gold medal for India in women’s freestyle in the weight category of 62 kg. She defeated Canada’s Ana Godinez Gonzalez 4-4. Sakshi Malik was trailing 4-0, but then she dismissed Godinez Gonzalez in an innings.

At the same time, Indian star wrestler Bajrang Punia has given India a gold medal in the men’s 65 kg weight category. Poonia defeated Canada’s KL McLean 9-2 to win the gold medal. Bajrang Punia scored four points in the first half. After which McLean could not survive.

Anshu Malik faced Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekore in the final of the 57 kg weight category. But Anshu Malik missed out on the gold medal. She lost her last match and had to be content with silver. Nigeria’s Odunayo Adekore defeated Anshu Malik 3-7 to win the gold medal. Odunayo Adekoureye won this third consecutive gold medal.
