The third injured person, 29-year-old, also succumbed to his injuries later on Friday, police said. The condition of the other adult remains critical.
A White House spokesman said the Biden administration was saddened by the incident. According to a statement posted on social media by Vito Magiolo, spokesman for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the incident occurred in front of officers from the US Secret Service and Park Police, who immediately arrived to provide first aid to the injured.
