Who still wants renewable electricity purchase contracts with the State? Incongruous, a little over a year ago, this question is becoming more and more legitimate for certain producers of renewable energies.
For several years, when the prices of wholesale electricity markets were low, the latter benefited from these contracts to sell their electricity at far more competitive prices than those of the market. The State guarantees them over 15 or 20 years a fixed remuneration for their electrons. However, the situation has radically changed. With soaring electricity prices, these producers are still remunerated at a fixed price below current market prices and see an unexpected windfall fly away.
