Ukraine began to use abandoned tanks of the Russian army
American think tank claims, Russian T-72 tanks are being tested
Ukraine is growing rapidly in the Luhansk region occupied by Russia
Kyiv Ukraine (Ukraine) is deploying Russian (Russia) captured tanks to consolidate its lead over the North East region. This claim has been made by an American think tank. At the same time, Kyiv has decided to move forward on the areas which are occupied by Russia. The Washington-based Institute for the Study of War cited Russian claims that Ukraine is using T-72 tanks that were abandoned by Russian forces and is now attempting to advance into the Russian-occupied area of Luhansk.
“Initially panicked by the counterattack, Russian troops left behind high-quality equipment that is in working condition, while Russian troops left behind damaged equipment during their retreat from Kyiv in April,” the institute said. Earlier this month, Ukraine launched a counteroffensive and its troops entered the vicinity of its second largest city, Kharkiv. Videos and photos show Ukrainian soldiers carrying tanks, ammunition and other weapons left behind by Russian troops. Meanwhile, Ukrainian soldiers have found graves near the city of Ezum.
Ukraine’s allegation: Russia harassed people in the occupied areas
Ukraine’s Deputy Interior Minister Yevniy Yesenin told a TV channel that authorities had excavated the graves and found their bodies, and they appeared to have been tortured. He said that the dead bodies had broken ribs, head bones, jaws and they were also tortured in other ways. Ukrainian officials have accused Russia of persecuting people in the occupied territories, but Russia has denied the allegations. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces are advancing into the southern part of the country.
A Russian army boat was sunk in the river
The institute quoted the Ukrainian military as saying that Kyiv forces destroyed an ammunition depot, two command posts and an electronic warfare system. The Ukrainian military’s southern command said it sank a Russian boat carrying troops and weapons in the Dnieper River near the Russian-held city of Nova Kakhovka in the early hours of Tuesday.
