The US Department of Justice is in the preliminary stages of drafting an antitrust complaint against Apple. The Justice Department has not decided whether to sue the American tech giant. The case is expected to be filed by the end of this year. In 2019, the Justice Department opened a wide-ranging investigation of major digital technology companies into whether they engaged in anticompetitive practices, and Google was later sued in October 2020.

The department’s antitrust division hopes to file a lawsuit by the end of the year, the report said, citing a person with direct knowledge of the matter.

The US Department of Justice has not yet decided whether to sue Apple.
