Zahia, long-time director of a primary school in Seine-Saint-Denis, is desperate for the upcoming opening of a brand new establishment in her city. This competition threatens to smash what remains of school diversity in his school and in his poor neighborhood. With the help of Marion, a young idealistic and eco-friendly teacher, and the means at hand, Zahia (Rachida Brakni) tries to ward off bad luck… Better to laugh than to cry.

In “The Court of Miracles”, the duo of directors Hakim Zouhani and Carine May, from Aubervilliers, describe with a bitter smile realities that are in no way frivolous: impoverishment of National Education, school map torn from all on the other hand, difficulties in recruiting teachers, and so on. With their whimsical script and a sense of humor that is never the enemy of lucidity, the filmmakers sign an offensive and fundamentally sympathetic film that deserves that we forget its formal clumsiness.
