New Delhi. A few months ago, Elon Musk told Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal that he didn’t want to be the boss, to which Agarwal replied. Aggarwal said that even the CEO of Tesla should treat him like an engineer instead of a CEO. The texts exchanged between Musk and Twitter executives Tarah Agarwal and Jack Dorsey are now in the public domain. According to a TechCrunch report, in a conversation with Twitter CEO Agarwal in early April, Musk admitted that he didn’t want to be the boss. Musk told Agarwal that I don’t think I should own anyone. But I prefer to help solve technical and product design problems.

Aggarwal also replied and said treat me like an engineer instead of CEO. Musk further told them that he had many ideas. But I want Twitter to be more wonderful. He wrote to Agarwal that he wanted to understand the technical details of the Twitter codebase. This will help me check the idiosyncrasies of my suggestions.

Agarwal replied that I used to be a CTO and was in the codebase for a long time. So I can answer many of your questions. Notably, on April 26, Dorsey, Musk and Agarwal took to a Google Hangout together to discuss the acquisition, and their differences were evident in the chat. According to IANS, Dorsey said that at least it is clear that you and I cannot work together.

The leaked chat comes amid a fierce legal battle between Twitter and Musk, which is set to begin on October 17 at the Delaware Court of Chancery in the US.
