Tata Tiago EV: Tata Motors is going to launch the cheapest electric car today. The new electric car will be the Tiago EV. The company has disclosed this. The Tiago EV was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, but the company did not launch it. Instead, Tata Motors launched the Nexon EV, Nexon EV Max and Tigor EV. Now, on the occasion of World EV Day, the Tiago EV has been announced. Being the cheapest electric car, the Tata Tiago EV can compete with the Tata Tigor EV in the Indian market. But for now, it will be the only electric car in the country in the hatchback segment.
The company will launch 10 electric cars
According to Kampana, Tata is currently building out an EV portfolio. They want to launch 10 electric vehicles across multiple segments, body styles and affordable prices. It already has the Tigor EVG compact sedan and the Nexon EVG compact SUV. The upcoming Tiago EV is a hatchback. The Tiago EV is the cheapest electric vehicle from Tata Motors. Currently, the cheapest car from Tata Motors is the Tigor EV. Its price is 12.5 lakh rupees. The next car can be expected to cost less than this.

The car will use advanced technology Tata Motors is expected to use the same Ziptron technology for the Tiago EV, which it is using for the Tigor EV and Nexon EV. The Ziptron technology is more advanced than the Xpres-T technology, which was previously used for the Tigor EV.
What will be the range?
According to reports, the Tiago EV could pack a 26kWh battery depending on its range. Also, it is expected to offer an electric motor that produces 74 bhp of power and 170 Nm of torque. A range of up to 310 km can be seen in this electric car. The battery of this car can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 1 hour with the help of a fast charger.
Car features and price
Currently, the cheapest electric car in India is the Tata Tigor with an ex-showroom price of Rs 12.49 lakh. The Tata Tiago Electric is likely to be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 12 lakh. Features such as multiple drive modes, flat-bottom steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system, fog lamps, multi-mode region function, digital instrument cluster, cruise control can be seen in the Tiago EV.
