The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 lineup, which includes the standard Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, will soon receive the tablet-centric Android 12L operating system. Notably, the recently launched Galaxy Fold 4 smartphone was the first Samsung device to run on this operating system. A new update for the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup has started rolling out in Europe and South Korea. This is said to be available only for Wi-Fi and 5G variants of this tablet.

According to A Report At SamMobile, the new Android 12L is rolling out to the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+ and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra in Europe and South Korea. These Samsung tablet models are receiving Android 12L versions X70xBXXU2AVH2, X80xBXXU2AVH5 and X90xBXXU2AVH2 respectively.

The update is said to include the August 2022 Android security patch. According to reports, the new taskbar feature may allow users to toggle and launch apps with the ability to launch app pairs in split-screen mode without using DX mode.

Furthermore, a two-finger gesture has been added to flip between full-screen and split-screen modes. Apps can also be opened in floating window mode, the report states. The update is said to bring a feature that enables Galaxy Tab S8 users to extract text from images. This feature currently supports English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.

The report also mentions that Smart Actions will now appear next to text, such as dialing a phone number from a business card photo. Improvements have been made to the My Files app and Samsung’s internet browser.
