The Redmi A1 India launch date is set for September 6, the company announced on Friday. The company’s upcoming handset will be powered by an unspecified MediaTek chipset and will offer a “clean Android experience” according to the microsite for the Redmi A1, which shows the phone to have a dual rear camera setup. The smartphone has also been teased to sport a rear panel with a leather texture. According to Redmi, it will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery.
The Xiaomi subsidiary announced via Twitter on Friday that the Redmi A1 will debut in India on September 6 at 12 noon (noon). Additionally, there is a dedicated landing page for smartphones live On the company’s website, revealing some of the specifications of the upcoming Redmi A1, which is confirmed to pack a 5,000mAh battery. It will be powered by an unspecified MediaTek SoC and offer a “clean Android experience”.
The Redmi A1 will have a dual rear AI camera setup with LED flash. According to the landing page, the back panel of the handset will have a leather texture design. The smartphone will launch in at least three color options. Redmi is yet to reveal other details including the India price of the upcoming handset. According to the company, the Redmi A1 will be part of the ‘Diwali With Mi’ launch.
As per earlier reports, the Redmi A1 has been spotted on the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database and the Geekbench benchmarking website. It appeared on the US FCC database with model number 220733SL. Redmi A1 is said to be powered by MediaTek Helio A22 SoC.
It is said to measure 164.67 mm in length and 76.56 mm in width. The Geekbench listing of the phone indicated that it could have 3GB of RAM and run Android 12 out-of-the-box. According to the report, the Redmi A1 has also visited the Bureau of Indian Standards database. The handset was spotted with model number 220733SI.
