Aar Ya Paar Teaser Trailer: Hotstar Series Follows a Tribal Man Turned Hitman

The first look trailer of the new Hotstar special R Ya Paar is out. Disney+ Hotstar unveiled the trailer of the action series starring Aditya Rawal, who is made into a hitman by a gang member sent abroad on an assignment. R Ya Paar marks director Siddharth Sengupta’s first venture with Disney+ Hotstar, who serves as the showrunner for the episodic series. The filmmaker is best known for Netflix’s Yeh Kali Kali Aankh and finds himself in familiar territory for this new project.

The trailer of R Ya Par begins with a phone call, as our lead hitman Sarju (Rawal) is tasked with an assassination and takes him to Romania. The target is described as a “soldier type” as our assassins arm themselves with high quality bows and arrows. A brief dialogue sequence reveals the lack of education of Soorju, who was born and raised in some random, Indian tribal village. Honing his skills in archery and primitive warfare, he establishes himself as an excellent candidate, moving into the city and taking on contract-killing jobs.

R Ya Par trailer frequently depicts his early days in his tribe, taking part in ancient rituals and jumping off waterfalls as a means of entertainment. Apart from the time jump, the R Ya Par trailer also hints that Sarju will be returning to his hometown to protect his gang from a group of goons, all armed with modern weaponry. We can theorize that contract killing eventually caught up with him, leading to some high-profile targets being ordered to execute his birth family. “When it comes to your own defense, man or beast, stop at nothing… and this guy is a bit of both!” an unseen narrator concludes.

“Unique stories are finding their way to audiences, and I am excited to bring a different story to R Ya Par for my first association with Disney+ Hotstar. This takes me back to the familiar waters of the episodic form of storytelling, which I enjoy most. The fact that this series walks the fine line between action and drama makes it an engrossing watch. Excited to see how the audience responds to it,” said Sengupta, showrunner of Hotstar Special’s R Ya Par.

The upcoming Disney+ Hotstar series also stars Sumeet Vyas (Unpause), Patralekha (Citylights), Ashish Vidyarthi (Rudra: The Age of Darkness), and Shilpa Shukla (Chak De! India).

Currently, there is no release window for R Ya Par, which will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
