Indian President Draupadi Murmu arrived in London late on Saturday evening. The last day of the three-day tour starting from September 17 is on September 19. Draupadi Murmu Queen Elizabeth II I will attend the funeral. After arriving in London on Saturday, President Draupadi Murmu paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on behalf of the Government of India. Significantly, Queen Elizabeth II died on 8 September at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96. Late on Saturday night, ahead of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, Emperor Charles III hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace in honor of Indian President Draupadi Murmu and other world leaders. Prior to the reception, the newly elected Prime Minister of Great Britain, Liz Truss met with the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, and the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern at their residence. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth by writing a condolence message.

S Jaishankar also paid tribute
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar paid tribute to the Queen at the British Embassy before Indian President Draupadi Murmu arrived in the UK. Subsequently, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that India-UK relations have developed, flourished and strengthened during the 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. As head of the Commonwealth, he played a vital role in the welfare of millions of people around the world. Significantly, India also observed political mourning on the death of Queen Elizabeth last Sunday.
