Plan A Plan B Trailer: Netflix’s Rom-Com Pits a Matchmaker and a Divorce Lawyer Against Each Other

The trailer of Plan A Plan B has been released. Netflix has released the first trailer of their upcoming Indian rom-com starring Riteish Deshmukh and Tamannaah Bhatia. The film centers around a potential match between a divorce lawyer and an honest matchmaker, who struggle to determine whose ideal is the right one. Shashank Ghosh – of House Arrest fame – directs the film from a script penned by debutant Rajat Arora. Plan A Plan B releases on September 30, exclusively on Netflix.

The quirky trailer of Plan A Plan B begins with Kaustubh Chowgule (Deshmukh), a successful lawyer who prepares a business plan for his neighborhood employees. “Plan A, you marry people. Plan B, I handle their divorce cases,” he tells a surprised Nirali Vora (Bhatia), a matchmaker who has just moved into the office next to him. Cold cuts reveal that Chowgule has never had good luck with long-term relationships, always tinder- Vora, however, is the exact opposite – a psychologist and marriage counselor who believes in real, long-lasting relationships. But there’s a catch. She believes those ideals don’t apply to her – Makes her somewhat hypocritical.

The Plan A Plan B trailer then shows the back-and-forth between the two characters, forming the core of the story. Chougule is described as an arrogant person, playing pranks that try to reinforce the idea that marriage is dead. “Matchmaking in the Age of Tinder. Why get married when you can do ‘this’?” He says, people are hell-bent on getting divorced. This then reduces the signs of romance between the two, as they share “gifts”, playful arguments and constant bickering in each other’s presence.

The pair tried to gauge their compatibility through a test, scoring a low 35 percent. This may lead to emotional distress and comfort from close friends and family – as seen at the end of the Plan A Plan B trailer. The Netflix film also stars actress-turned-politician Poonam Dhillon and Kusha Kapila.

Plan A Plan B releases on September 30, exclusively on Netflix.
