Apply Passport Online: Passport and visa are two important documents for going abroad. But many people find the process of obtaining Police Clearance Certificate complicated while obtaining a passport. Police Clearance Certificate puts unforeseen pressure on the system. In view of this, the Ministry of External Affairs has taken a big decision. Applications for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) services will be available from 28 September 2022 at all online Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) across the country. This will make it easier to get a passport. A statement has been given by the Ministry of External Affairs. It said that the ministry is working to simplify passport related services and improve the experience of citizens. The demand for Police Clear Certificate has increased. For this, all online Post Office Passport Seva Kendras in India will now have the facility to apply for PCC services.
What is Police Clearance Certificate?
A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is issued to an Indian passport holder. A Police Clearance Certificate is required when seeking residency status, employment or a long-term visa. But PCC need not go abroad on tourist visa.

The ministry said that after this decision, not only Indian citizens seeking jobs abroad but also other requirements of PCCs will be met. Like in case of education, visa for long duration etc.

1. Present Address Proof
2. Self-attested copy of the employment contract with the foreign employer
3. Copy of seven valid visas with official English translation (if visa is not in English)
4. Self attested photocopy of ECR/Non-ECR
