Electronics: why manufacturing in France is now possible

A l'image de Crosscall ou des conteuses pour enfants Lunii, les sociétés de l'électronique françaises ne sont plus rares à s'être détournées de leurs partenaires chinois.

In French electronics, the “made in China” has lead in the wing. Like Crosscall or children’s storytellers Lunii, companies in the sector are no longer rare to have turned away from their Chinese partners. But unlike multinationals like Apple who have chosen Vietnam or India as alternatives, French entrepreneurs are choosing to relocate to France.

“When the founders of Lunii launched in 2014, there were no manufacturers in France to respond to a company without a track record and which is creating a new market segment”, recalls Antoine de La Celle, the director start-up operations whose products are now manufactured near Bayonne (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). Earlier in the 2000s, this problem had already pushed generations of young French shoots towards Chinese factories.
