New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The two leaders discussed issues like Ukraine war, friendship between the two countries, mutual cooperation, food crisis. The meeting between Modi and Putin was positive. Stating that India-Russia ties have been strong since the beginning, Putin invited Modi to visit Russia. Narendra Modi said that the relations between Russia and India will be stronger in future.

In a bilateral meeting with Narendra Modi, Putin said he was aware of the war with Ukraine and India’s role. We also feel that this should end soon. Putin said, we will keep you informed about what is happening there. Narendra Modi had earlier said that the supply chain has been affected by the war in Ukraine.
