Moto G72 renders leaked; Design, color variants suggested ahead of launch: Report

Tata Group in talks with Wistron to manufacture iPhone in India: Report

According to the leaked renders online, the Moto G72 can be launched in three color variants. The images reveal that Motorola’s latest entrant to the midrange G-series will come in Blue, Grey/Black and Silver options. Design renders showing views of the front and rear panels have surfaced online, which points to a design that includes an on-screen fingerprint scanner. The leaked images also reveal that the G72 is likely to sport a triple camera rear setup with a 108-megapixel primary along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide and 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The rendered images of the Moto G72 were Groove by tipster Steve H. McFly (Twitter: @onleaks) in collaboration with Pricebaba. The tipster claims that the images released are from renders made for the press. According to the report, the Moto G72 4G model is listed with the model number XT2255 in the FCC certification database.

Meanwhile, as per reports, the Indian version of the Moto G72 is being referred to internally as “Victoria22”, with the model number appearing on the FCC’s certification database as XT2255-2. The smartphone can be launched in September or October.

The Moto G72 model number indicates that the smartphone maker may consider it as a successor or upgrade to its closest relative in terms of model number, the G71 model that was released earlier this year. The rumored Moto G72 is expected to launch with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, similar to the Moto G71.

The company’s upcoming handset could pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. The device is rumored to run on Android 12 out-of-the-box. However, there is no clarity on whether the Moto G72 will receive its Android 13 update yet. At launch, the handset is rumored to be available in 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, while the smartphone maker may also offer 128GB and 256GB storage variants. The upgrade on the storage variant will be a step up from the Moto G71, which is available in a single 128GB storage configuration.
