Monica, O My Darling Release Set for November, Netflix Reveals

Monica, O My Darling is all set to release in November. In a Tudum 2022 Fall Preview blog post, Netflix unveiled a guide to its upcoming series and movies. In that list is the newly released Vasan Bala comedy, Monica, O My Darling. While Netflix hasn’t announced a concrete date for some of the later entries in the list, fans can expect to see the Rajkummar Rao-led film sometime in November. Netflix released the teaser trailer of Monica, O My Darling after its screening at the Films Day event in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Bala – known for co-writing Bombay Velvet – describes the film as a neo-noir, where the creation of the “perfect plan” for something illegal leads to total chaos in the lives of those involved. In Monica, O My Darling, the act is murder, which the oversharing Rao (Lust Stories) wants to do. The minute-long Monica, O My Darling teaser was fairly vague on plot details, only highlighting some discussions with the other main characters.

Netflix September 2022 Releases: Cobra Kai 5, Jamtara 2, Bollywood Wives 2 and more

Huma Qureshi (Army of the Dead) is one such person, who appears to be running some sort of organized crime business. Rao, an expert in robotics, devises a plan to carry out the perfect murder, leaving no trace of DNA. This is evidenced by the official synopsis detailing “robots crushing human skulls” in addition to other thematic elements such as lust, blackmail and betrayal. Joining the project is Radhika Apte, who brings a unique accent to the role. Not much is known about her character, though Monica, O My Darling sees her reuniting with screenwriter Yogesh Chandekar. The two had previously worked together in Andhadhun.

Monica, O My Darling stars Sikandar Kher (The Zoya Factor), Baghwati Perumal, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Sukant Goyal (Dobara) and Zayn Mary Khan.

Besides Monica, O My Darling, The Tudam blog post The streaming platform lists an array of compelling titles this fall. First up, we have the fifth iteration of the martial arts-focused comedy, Cobra Kai 5, releasing on September 9. Rounding out the month will be Blonde, led by Ana de Armas, directed by Andrew Dominique. The film is a fictional biopic of the late actress Marilyn Monroe and will be released on Netflix on September 28.

Then, on October 21st, we have Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, an anthology series. In November, Millie Bobby Brown-led Enola Holmes 2 will be released on November 4. The aforementioned Monica, Oh My Darling, and The Crown Season 5 are also set for a November window, but there’s no exact date yet.
