DG Prison murder found: A shocking incident came to light in Jammu and Kashmir late on Monday night. Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (Prisons) Hemant Lohia has been murdered by slitting his throat. This incident has created a sensation. The police suspect the hand of his helper behind this act. A police officer said that this helper is currently absconding. Police have started searching for this helper.
Hemant Lohia is a 1992 batch IPS officer. His body was found at a residence on the outskirts of the city. On getting information about the incident, the police immediately reached the spot. The police found his dead body slit. Lohia’s house helper is absconding. Some teams have been formed to search for him. So the forensic team inspected Lohia’s house.
Lohia was given the charge of Director General of Police (Prison Administration) in August. Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Division has also expressed grief on behalf of the police force. He said that the investigation into the incident is on and senior police officials have inspected the spot. As soon as the news of Hemant Lohia’s murder came to the fore, the Jammu and Kashmir Police came into alert mode. Intelligence agencies have also been alerted.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday began his three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. During his visit, this major incident has caused a stir. As per his scheduled tour, Amit Shah will visit Mata Vaishno Devi. After this he will address a public meeting in Rajouri. Some development projects will be inaugurated and Bhumi Pujan will be done at this place.
