Washington. Amazon boss Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife Mackenzie Scott has filed for divorce from her second husband, Dan Jewett, after two years of marriage. According to the New York Times, Scott filed for divorce in King County Superior Court in Washington state on Monday. According to reports, Jewett, who worked as a high school science teacher, has not opposed the divorce. Mackenzie Scott is one of the richest and most influential people in the world. Scott and Jewett married in March 2021.
Significantly, news of their marital problems first surfaced publicly when Jewett suddenly disappeared due to Scott’s philanthropic vows. The news of Scott’s divorce comes three years after she and Jeff Bezos announced their divorce. Scott and Jeff separated in 2019 after 25 years of marriage.
Scott said in a petition filed in the court on Monday that ‘we dissolve our marriage with the court. The document shows that the couple has a contract, which explains how to divide the real estate and other personal assets.’
Bezos, the world’s second richest man, tweeted at the time of his divorce from McKenzie that ‘We want to let people know about the changes in their lives. As our family and close friends know that after a long time of love and separation, we have decided to get divorced. Haas will continue his life as a friend. Scott and Bezos have four children.
Bezos continued, ‘We feel incredibly lucky to have each other. If we had known that we would part ways after 25 years, we would have done it again.
