New Delhi. Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov has said that the border standoff between India and China is a “bilateral issue” between the two countries, which Russia does not want to get involved in. Taking a dig at the US-led western countries on the issue, he said that they are fueling suspicion between India and China. Alipov also reacted to French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Uzbekistan last week. The ambassador said Western leaders chose parts of the talks that best suited their position on Ukraine.

According to a report in the Indian Express, Ambassador Denis Alipov said about the S-400 air defense system that India is preparing for timely delivery. Any delay in the construction of transport frigates has nothing to do with the war in Ukraine. On President Vladimir Putin’s new move to partially withdraw troops, he said, “We are ready to stand up for our security, which cannot be compromised.”

He also said that if Russia feels that the price range proposed by the G-7 countries is not fair, it will stop supplying oil to the global market. If oil prices do not remain reasonable and acceptable, we will cut oil supplies to global markets and countries that are involved in the US initiative on price cap, he said. The G-7 countries and the European Union have set price limits on Russian crude and refined oil products to limit the Kremlin’s revenue, as sanctions imposed by Western countries have had little effect.

“We didn’t threaten anyone with a nuclear attack,” Russia responded a day later

The US has also asked India to join the alliance on the border. New Delhi has said that it will carefully examine the proposal before taking any decision. Alipov said that India has so far taken a cautious approach in this matter. It will not be beneficial to Indian interests.
