India vs South Africa 1st T20I Match: A three-match T20 series will be played between India and South Africa from today. Deepak Hooda, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya are not part of the Indian team in this series. Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has given a big reaction on giving rest to Hardik Pandya. Hardik Pandya’s absence can be fatal for the Indian team. Wasim Jaffer has expressed concern that Hardik Pandya may bat well but plays the role of fifth bowler in the Indian team.
What did Wasim Jaffer say?
Talking to Cricinfo, Wasim Jaffer commented on Hardik Pandya and young batsman Deepak Hooda. “Hardik Pandya’s absence from the T20I series against South Africa could spell trouble for the Indian team. Deepak Hooda is also out of the team due to injury. These things can add to the tension of Rohit Sharma.”

“Young pacer Arshdeep Singh should get a chance to play in the playing XI in the T20 series against South Africa. There are many questions for India in the death overs. Arshdeep Singh’s return to the team could help Harshal Patel in the middle overs. ” The important thing is that everyone knows that Arshdeep Singh bowls well in the death overs.”
Hardik Pandya likely to miss
Hardik Pandya is playing an important role in the Indian team. Hardik Pandya has improved in batting as well as bowling over the years. He was part of the Indian team in the T20 series against Australia. But, in view of the upcoming T20 World Cup, he has been rested from the T20 series against South Africa. Apart from this, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel will command the Indian bowling. Umesh Yadav has also got a chance to replace Mohammad Siraj.
