The market is still far from taking off, but Plastic Omnium sees things big in hydrogen. The automotive supplier announced on Wednesday that it would build the largest hydrogen tank factory in Europe in France. An announcement with great fanfare. For the occasion, the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, had made the trip to Compiègne on the research site of the French group, with part of the government, including the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, and the Minister of Energy Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher.

Plastic Omnium is one of the winners of the first wave of ten hydrogen projects that were selected by Brussels because they were deemed essential for European competitiveness. As such, they can benefit from public aid from their country. For this future production site, which will be built a few kilometers from the R & D center, with 200 jobs at stake, the State will put 74 million euros on the table.
