Pankaj Tripathi: Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who has made a mark in the world of OTT with his acting, has now entered the electoral fray. The National Election Commission has decided to make Pankaj Tripathi a National Icon.
To increase voter turnout and boost voter turnout, the Election Commission often appoints popular personalities as national symbols or brand ambassadors. Earlier in 2014, Team India bowler Cheteshwar Pujara was made the brand ambassador by the Election Commission for the Gujarat Assembly elections.
Since Cheteshwar Pujara is busy with cricket matches, he never exercised his right to vote. The Election Commission also made Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the brand ambassador. But due to being busy in cricket, he too could not vote in the Lok Sabha elections. Pankaj Tripathi has now entered the electoral fray not as a candidate but for public awareness.

The Central Election Commission on Monday announced the dates for assembly bypolls in six states. The commission has also issued a notification in this regard. Voting for seven assembly seats in six states will be held on November 3 and counting will be held on November 6. It includes the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Maharashtra, Telangana and Odisha.
