New Delhi:

A 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan’s Yujing district on Sunday. The earthquake occurred at 6:44:15 am (UTC) in Taiwan, 85 km east of Yujing. The epicenter of the earthquake was at 23.100 degree north latitude and 121.300 degree east longitude. The epicenter of the earthquake was 10.0 km below the surface. Earlier, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) reported that a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan’s southeastern Taichung County at 9:41 pm (local time) last night. The Bureau of Seismology Center said the quake’s epicenter was located about 35.8 kilometers north of Taichung County Hall at a depth of 7.3 km. No tsunami warning has been issued so far. At present there is no news of any casualties.
