Jakarta. Earlier, earthquake tremors were felt in Indonesia on Sunday morning. There are no immediate reports of any serious damage or casualties from this underwater earthquake.
The US Geological Survey said a 5.7-magnitude quake struck about 158 kilometers from the village of Laikit in North Sulawesi province. The department said the epicenter of the quake was about 30 km below sea level.
No chance of tsunami from earthquake
Indonesia’s Meteorological, Climate and Geophysical Agency said there was no threat of a tsunami from the quake. According to the agency, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.9 and its epicenter was at a depth of 10 km.
