He became famous worldwide with the BBC show ‘Sherlock’. He became famous for playing the role of ‘Doctor Strange’ in the film ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’. He is reprising the role in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, which releases this Friday.
Benedict has a special attachment to India
According to media reports, Benedict had told how he lived in a Tibetan monastery in West Bengal for several months as a teenager. When he was asked in an interview if he had ever been to India, he said, ‘Yes! Once for about six months, when I was 19 years old. I studied in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in West Bengal. Then, I took a short trip to the north of India. I’ve never been to the South, but I spent a wonderful month in Rajasthan. There are many good memories.’
Benedict likes Lassi Hai Kafi
Benedict talks about the food he loved most during his stay in India. He says, ‘I got a strange taste from Tibetan tea. It is milky, butter-like and salty. I love their dumplings too. I ate a lot of Tibetan food. I love lassi. I love how it cools the palate, especially when the curry burns your mouth.’
Benedict is busy shooting for the film
Benedict is currently shooting for the adventure comedy “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar”, in which he plays the titular character. The film is based on the stories of Roald Dahl. The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, Ben Kingsley and Rupert Friend. The film is going to release on Netflix later this year.
