DJI Osmo Action 3 camera launched with videos up to 4K/120fps

The DJI Osmo Action 3 was launched on Wednesday as the third action camera from the maker of drones and gimbals. The camera sports two touchscreen displays — one on the front and one on the back. It gets a single 12-megapixel 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor paired with a lens with f/2.8 aperture and 155 degree field-of-view. The development comes as GoPro is also launching its new action camera, the GoPro Hero 11.

According to DJI, the maximum photo resolution is 4,000×3,000 pixels. It offers 4x digital zoom for photos, 2x for videos greater than 60fps, 3x for videos at or below 60fps with HorizonSteady On, and 4x for videos at or below HorizonSteady Off.

DJI Osmo Action 3 can record standard 4K video with 60fps (4:3) and standard 4K video with 120fps (16:9). Other shooting modes include slow motion, hyperlapse, and timelapse. There are two touchscreens — the DJI Osmo Action 3 has a 1.4-inch screen on the front with a resolution of 320×320 pixels and a pixel density of 326ppi, while the back has a 2.25-inch screen with a resolution of 360×640 pixels and a pixel density of 326ppi. The DJI Osmo Action 3 gets a 1,770mAh battery with a claimed operating time of 160 minutes. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth v5.0.
